Leaving Vallet, one can visit the most famous castles and places of great interest: at 12 Km distance: Amboise, Chenonceau, the Aquarium in Touraine, the Pagoda of Chanteloup, Clos Luce (last home of Leonardo da Vinci), the Mini Châteaux, La Bourdaisière, its own conservatory of tomato and vegetable garden.

Concerts in Tours, at l'Abbaye de Fontevraud (The Fontevraud Abbey) or at La Grange de Meslay (one of the most ancient fortified farms of the thirteenth century).

Wine sampling at a few miles east: St Martin le Beau, Montlouis, Vouvray on the banks of the Loire. A little further, Chinon, Coteaux Cravant, St Nicolas de Bourgueil, Bourgueil - 45 to 60 minute
drive and further away, Saumur.
For sports lovers:
tennis, canoeing and swimming pool in Bléré - 5km. away. Riding - 5Km away. Fly over the castles in a hot air balloon, or airplane from Dierre, on the other side of the Cher River.
